To get started with ISC Kea DHCP, you need to determine which agent should handle the service and configure the Kea Hooks Library before adding your Kea service to DDI orchestrator.
Once you've added your Kea DHCP server, there are several actions specific to managing Kea DHCP servers and services in DDI orchestrator. You can:
- Manage Kea client classification
- Handle external changes to a Kea server's configuration file, meaning changes made outside of DDI orchestrator
- Resolve synchronization conflicts
You can also define standard and custom DHCPv4 and DHCPv6 options on your Kea DHCP server. For more information, refer to Defining options on Kea DHCP servers.
If you want to enable High Availability for your Kea DHCP servers, the servers must be configured for High Availability before the primary server is added to DDI orchestrator. If High Availability is set up properly, DDI orchestrator will recognize the failover nodes and the method (load balancing, hot standby, etc.) and configure the server objects accordingly when you add your servers to DDI orchestrator.
