You can link and unlink IP addresses from devices to manage their network connectivity.

To link an IP address to a device:

  1. In the list on the Devices tab of of the IPAM page, select the device to which you want to link an IP address.
  2. Take one of the following actions:
    1. Locate the appropriate interface in the Inspector and select the plus (+) icon next to the interface.

    2. Use either the Action menu or the ellipses in the row to select Configure interfaces.
      1. Find the appropriate interface and select the ellipses in the row.
      2. Select Link IP address.

      3. In the dialog, enter the IP address you want to link.

Unlinking IP addresses

Unlinking an IP address from a device interface removes the association between the IP address and the interface, but retains the address’ metadata, such as custom properties.

You can also clear an address, which removes the association and deletes all related metadata.

To unlink an IP address from a device interface:

  1. In the list on the Devices tab of the IPAM page, select the device.
  2. In either the Inspector or in the dialog displayed after selecting Configure interfaces on the the ellipses in the row, select the IP address you want to unlink.
  3. Using the ellipses in the row, select Unlink to remove the association but retain the metadata.

    -OR-

    Select Clear to unlink the address and delete all associated data, such as custom properties.
