Object folders can group together the following objects:

DNS
Zones
IPAM
Networks
Ranges
Scopes

DNS records and IP addresses cannot be placed in object folders, but they can be filtered with smart folders.

Note: Objects can only be placed in one object folder.

Adding objects to object folders

When you want to add an object to an object folder, first locate the object on either the DNS or IPAM page and then follow these instructions:

  1. In the list, select the object(s) you want to add to a folder.
  2. Use the Action or Row ... menu to select Add to folder.
  3. In the dialog, select the folder from the displayed folder tree.
    Tip: Use the Filter bar to filter the tree for a specific folder.

  4. Select Save.

The object(s) will be added to the folder and displayed in the list when you view the folder.

Moving objects between object folders

It's possible to move an object from one folder to another. To move an object between folders:

  1. Either open the folder in which the object is located from the sidebar and select the object.

    OR

    Select the object in the list on either the DNS or IPAM page.

  2. Use either the Action or Row ... menu to select Change folder.
  3. In the dialog, select the new folder from the folder tree.

    Select Save.

Removing objects from object folders

You can also remove objects from folders. To remove an object from a folder:

  1. Either open the folder in which the object is located from the sidebar and select the object.

    OR

    Select the object in the list on either the DNS or IPAM page.

  2. Use either the Action or Row ... menu to select Remove from folder.
  3. Select Yes to confirm that you want to remove the object from its folder.
