In DDI orchestrator, you can select and merge multiple networks or split networks into smaller networks.

Note: It's not possible to join DHCP scopes.

Splitting networks

To split a network into smaller networks:

  1. On the Networks tab of the IPAM page, select the range that you want to split.
  2. Use either the Action or ellipses in the row to select Allocate subranges.
  3. Use the Size dropdown to select a subnet mask to choose how large the subranges should be.
  4. Select the number of subranges you want to split the network into using the Count dropdown.
  5. Select the offset where you want to start allocating in the Starting at field.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Give the new network a Title and optional Description.
  8. Set any custom properties required by your system setup. Then select Next.
  9. Review the summary that displays the subnets that will be created. Then select Finish.

Joining networks

The Join ranges function only becomes available if the networks you select in the IPAM data grid can be joined.

To join networks:

  1. In the list on the Networks tab of the IPAM page, select the ranges that you want to join.
  2. Use either the Action or the ellipses in the row to select Join ranges.

  3. Configure the properties for the joined range:
    • Use access from: Select the range from which you want the joined range to inherit access permissions.
    • Use properties from: Select the range from which you want the joined range to inherit properties.
    • Title: Enter a title for the new range.
    • Description: (Optional) Add a description.
  4. Select Join.
