In large, dynamic environments, API calls from BlueCat Server Update Services (BSUS) to Address Manager may take longer than expected to create or return content. Within the Global Settings, you can test the Address Manager database connection to make sure that the API calls can successfully send and receive content from Address Manager. You can also configure a timeout for API connections to halt any API calls that have not been successfully executed within a specified period.
-
Click the Administration tab, then click Address Manager API.
-
Within this page, you can do the following:
-
To verify that BSUS has access to the Address Manager database, click the Test BAM (BlueCat Address Manager) DB Connection button.
If the connection test fails, you might need to allow access to the Address Manager database from the IP address of the machine running BSUS. You can typically do so from the Admin console on the Address Manager server machine, accessed through the command line interface.
-
In API Timeout, select the API timeout period.
-
- Click Update to update the API timeout value.
