When applying Configuration Templates (for service configurations), you first assign a subset of templates to a Server Batch. Then, for each server within that Server Batch you can choose one those templates to apply to that server.

To add a Configuration Template to a Server Batch:

  1. If you haven't already done so, create a Configuration Template JSON file and add it to BSUS in the Configuration Templates tab. (See Adding a Configuration Template to BSUS.)

  2. Click Dashboard on the header bar, then click the server batch to which you want to assign the configuration template.

  3. Click the Add button (the plus symbol), then click Add Customization.

  4. In the Configuration Templates section, select the templates that you want to assign to the Server Batch. You can select multiple templates, though each server can use only one of them.

    When you're done, click Finish.

To assign a Configuration Template to a Server:

  1. In the Dashboard page, click the name of the Server Batch (in the Name column).

A list of the servers in that batch appears. The Configuration Status column lists the status of the server's configuration. If no Configuration Template is assigned to a server yet, the Configuration Status is listed as No Configuration Template.

Tip: To download the current service configuration for a server, click the download button () within the Configuration Status column.
  2. Under the Configuration Status column, click the current status of the server (either Compliant, Noncompliant, or No Configuration Template).

  3. In the window that appears, select the Confguration Template that you want to assign to the Server.

You can choose from any template assigned to the Server Batch. If you can't find the template you want, you'll need to add it to the Server Batch first.

    When you're done, click Update.
