BlueCat Server Update Services has the following known issues:

  • Applying packages to a batch that is already in the process of applying another patch can cause the following issues:

    • For a single server: The second patch might get stuck in an execution loop.
    • For XHA servers: Both servers in the XHA will attempt to apply the different packages simultaneously.
  • Attempting to apply multiple upgrades to the BSUS agent (the part of BSUS that resides on a target server) before waiting for the previous upgrade to complete can cause an upgrade to become stuck in an execution loop.

To work around this, when upgrading a BSUS agent on a server, please wait for the agent upgrade process to complete before clicking the Upgrade Agent button again.

  • When deleting a batch, schedules for that batch are not deleted. When the scheduled time for the deleted batch arrives, "Apply" messages are still sent to the old sever IPs. This can cause an execution loop on the agent if the servers were added to a new batch and the BSUS agent for them was already running.

To work around this, after you delete a batch, make sure you also delete any schedules that use that batch.
