BlueCat Server Update Services (BSUS) supports two different types of updates:
Upgrade: A major software upgrade, with new features and functionality.
Patch: A small update, typically to address a major known issue or a serious security vulnerability. Rarely, a patch may add new functionality.
BSUS automatically detects the patch type and applies each type of patch in different ways as needed.
Note: The update type is not related to the type of file name extension. A patch might be
released as a *.tar file or a *.zip file.
