Cloud Discovery & Visibility AWS Administration Guide

English (United States)
Product name
BlueCat Gateway

The following section defines how configurations are created in Address Manager upon AWS infrastructure data import.

Attention: If you update the name of a Configuration or View in Address Manager after you have enabled discovery and visibility, the Cloud Discovery & Visibility AWS Adaptive Application will no longer import AWS infrastructure changes into Address Manager.

Under Configuration Options, enter the following information:
  • AWS REGION—select the AWS region that you would like to import the AWS infrastructure information from.
Note: If you do not see your region within the drop-down menu, you can manually type in the region name.

The ability to manually type AWS regions supports US AWS GovCloud and China cloud regions. Any regions not listed might require additional permissions to be configured for discover to work, but might also not be supported.

  • BLUECAT CONFIGURATION—enter the name of the configuration that will be created in Address Manager that contains the AWS infrastructure information. By default, this field is populated with the AWS region selected.
  • Override Configuration—select this checkbox to create configurations in Address Manager based on the number of virtual private clouds (VPCs) in the AWS infrastructure. Selecting this checkbox disables the ability to enter information in the BLUECAT CONFIGURATION field.
