To run rediscovery on a network infrastructure, you must first set the Override Configurations option (so that in your platform's Configuration Options section. When you set up Cloud Discovery & Visibiltiy (CDV), CDV adds a Configuration to Address Manager. By enabling the Override Configurations option, you make sure that CDV will override and update the Configuration in Address Manager with the current settings in CDV.

Then, rerun discovery with the same configuration.

To do so, do the following for each platform involved in the discovery job. To switch between platforms, click the tabs in the banner at the top (AWS, GCP, or Azure):

  1. In the Setup tab, within the Credentials section, enter the credentials that were used to authenticate for the previous discovery task.

Note: For the GCP platform, the Credentials section is named Service Account.
  2. In the Configuration Options section, set CDV to use the previous configurations and to override the existing configuration, as follows:

    • AWS: Within the Configuration Options section, enter the AWS Region and BlueCat Configuration that were previously used to perform the discovery task. Then, select the Override Configurations checkbox.

Attention: The AWS Region and BlueCat Configuration fields must contain the same values used for the previously-run discovery task.
    • Azure and GCP: Within the Configuration Options section, enter the BlueCat Configuration that was previously used to perform the discovery task. Then, select the Override Configurations checkbox.

  3. Within the Discovery Options section, select the resources that you want to import into Address Manager as part of rediscovery.

If you want to automatically delete any resources that currently exist in Address Manager that were removed from the network environnment since the previous discovery task, click to select the Remove Deleted Resources during Rediscovery checkbox.

Note: If you clear this checkbox, CDV will tag these missing resources for you to review and (possibly) manually delete later. See Deleting resources flagged as missing during rediscovery.
  4. When you're done, rerun the discovery task.
