When running rediscovery, Cloud Discovery & Visibility (CDV) tags resources (Views and Zones) that currently exist in Address Manager but that were removed since the previous discovery task. (A "rediscovery" occurs when you rerun a discovery job on the same configuration to pick up changes in network resources.)
By default, when running rediscovery, CDV does not delete tagged resources from Address Manager. You can view tagged resources in the Tagged Resources tab to decide whether or not they should be deleted. For example, an organization's network might include main zones from the cloud, whose resources are discovered and merged with local on-premise resources. In this case, you might want to leave the resources in Address Manager, since they're managed internally.
To view the list of tagged resources:
-
In the banner at the top of CDV, click the Tagged Resources tab.
CDV displays a list of Views and Zones that it has identified as missing and tagged for possible deletion.
You can filter the list to find a specific resource:
- To find a resource with a specific name, enter the name (or part of it) in the Name field. Tag names for deleted resources are based on the resource's tagged View or Zone configuration.
- To filter by Configuration Name or Type, select the desired name and/or type from their lists.
- When you've set up the filter, click Apply.
To refresh the list, click the Refresh button.
To manually delete network resources that were tagged as missing from the set of managed resources in Address Manager:
Go to the Tagged Resources list if you're not already there. (In the banner at the top of CDV, click the Tagged Resources tab.)
Select the checkboxes next to each View and Zone resource that you want to delete.
- When you're done, click the Action gear button () and select Delete.
