After configuring and running discovery for a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) system, Cloud Discovery & Visibility (CDV) will import GCP infrastructure data into Address Manager.

  • CDV Directory (Tag group) > Google Cloud Platform (Tag) > GCP Project name (Tag)

Where "GCP Project name" is the name of the GCP Project where the tagged objects were found.

Attention: If you update the name of a Configuration or View in Address Manager after you run a discovery and visibility operation, CDV will no longer import GCP infrastructure changes into Address Manager. To import infrastructure changes into Address Manager with the changed configuration and view names, you must reconfigure the Schedule manager or Visibility manager for the affected jobs.

The following examples illustrate how different types of sample data are imported as Address Manager resources.

Tagged device resources

During discovery and visibility, CDV tags the items it finds: Blocks, networks, and device resources like virtual machines, load balancers, private endpoints, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKS) instances. These appear in Address Manager under the CDV Directory group, within their GCP Project:

The list below illustrates tagged resources for one such item:
