Cloud Discovery & Visibility (CDV) is built on the Gateway platform. To get started with CDV:

  1. Log in to BlueCat Gateway.

  2. Under Available Actions, click CloudDiscovery.

The main Cloud Discovery & Visibility page opens.

  3. In the banner at the top, click the tab for the type of infrastructure on which you want to run Discovery and Visibility jobs:

Click AWS to configure CDV for Amazon Web Services.

Click GCP to configure CDV for Google Cloud Platform.

Click Azure to configure CDV for Microsoft Azure.

Within each platform, configuration settings and details are organized into the following tabs:

Field/Option Description
Setup

Configure general Cloud Discovery & Visibility settings, including what data you want to look for and how you want it imported.

Discovery View the Discovery status and Discovery history.
Visibility View the Visibility status and Visibility history.
Management Manage Visibility jobs.

While there are broad similarities, available settings within each tab depends on the specific network infrastructure platform (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure). For example, each platform has a different set of credential fields to configure in Setup.

Starting Discovery: To apply your configured filters and settings (after you configure the Discovery and Visibility jobs) and import discovered data into Address Manager, click Start Discovery.
