You can use Cloud Discovery & Visibility on a BlueCat DNS/DHCP Server (BDDS). However, if you apply an upgrade the BDDS server, the CDV instance and all of its data will be lost. To preserve your CDV data, you must first export your CDV database, restoring it when the BDDS upgrade completes.
To upgrade a BDDS that is hosting CDV:
Before applying the BDDS upgrade, export the CDV database. For more details, see Exporting the current Cloud Discovery & Visibility database.
Apply the BDDS upgrade. For more details, see the Address Manager Administration Guide and any Release Notes associated with the upgrade.
After the BDDS upgrade successfully completes, import the exported database content. For more details, see Importing the old database into the upgraded Cloud Discovery & Visibility container.
