Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that the following requirements are met:
  • You must have at least one IPv4 network template created with DHCP options that you wish to apply to the DHCP ranges or DHCP reserved addresses.
  • You must have IPv4 DHCP ranges or DHCP reserved addresses created with the UDF_IPV4_RANGE UDF.
  • You must be logged in to BlueCat Gateway and have an active session to apply the template.
  • The user account that is logged in to Address Manager to apply the template must also have the following permissions:
    • Address Manager API access.
    • Permissions to access the dhcp_template workflow in BlueCat Gateway.


To apply IPv4 network templates to DHCP ranges:
  1. Log in to Address Manager.
  2. Click the IP Space tab.
  3. Under IPv4 Blocks, click an IPv4 block.
  4. Under Blocks and Networks, click an IPv4 network.
  5. Click the DHCP Ranges tab.
  6. Under DHCP Ranges, click the name of a DHCP range.
  7. On the DHCP range Details page, click the Apply Template value of the UDF_IPV4_RANGE UDF.

    A new tab opens with the BlueCat Gateway workflow. The page contains a list of IPv4 network templates that can be applied to the DHCP range.

  8. On the BlueCat Gateway workflow page, select the name of the IPv4 network template to apply to the DHCP range.

    If you wish to remove an IPv4 network template from a DHCP range, select NONE.

  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click Execute to confirm.


To apply IPv4 network templates to DHCP reserved addresses:
  1. Log in to Address Manager.
  2. Click the IP Space tab.
  3. Under IPv4 Blocks, click an IPv4 block.
  4. Under Blocks and Networks, click an IPv4 network.
  5. Click the name of a DHCP reserved address.
  6. On the DHCP reserved address Details page, click the Apply Template value of the UDF_IPV4_RANGE UDF.

    A new tab opens with the BlueCat Gateway workflow. The page contains a list of IPv4 network templates that can be applied to the DHCP reserved address.

  7. On the BlueCat Gateway workflow page, select the name of the IPv4 network template to apply to the DHCP reserved address.

    If you wish to remove an IPv4 network template from a DHCP range, select NONE.

  8. Click Apply.
  9. Click Execute to confirm.

The workflow applies the DHCP options of the IPv4 network template to the DHCP range. Once the template has been applied, a window appears with a summary of the results. The window displays whether the application was successful, the number of DHCP options that exist in the IPv4 network template, the number of DHCP options that were successfully applied, and the number of DHCP options that failed to apply.
