To register a new device:
- Select Register Device +.
- Enter a username.
- Enter the device's MAC address.
- Select the Device type from the drop-down list.
- Enter a Description for the device.
- The Registration type is Dynamic by
default, so the device is automatically assigned an IP address when it connects to
the network. As the most common type of registration, you can keep it and select
Register Device to complete the registration
process.
If a Reserved registration type is required, where an IP address is assigned from a specific, selected network after the device connects, take the following steps:
- Select the Reserved registration as the Registration type.
- Select the Location from the predefined entries in the drop-down list.
- Select the Network from the predefined entries in the drop-down list.
- Select the DNS domain from the predefined entries in the drop-down list.
- Enter the DNS hostname and select Register Device to complete the registration process.
The device is registered and added to the list of Registered devices.
Note:
Administrators are allowed to register more than maximum number of devices per single user set in DRP Configuration.
