Gateway Administration Guide

BlueCat Gateway

Logs for the Apache server that runs the DNS Integrity Gateway application can be found by default in your <dns_integrity_gateway> directory under logs/apache. The default location can be changed in the envvars file found at apache/configuration/envvars in your <dns_integrity_gateway> directory. The following line should be modified with the braces changed to the desired path:

export APACHE_LOG_DIR=/portal/bluecat_portal/{path you want}$SUFFIX
Note: Your path should not end with a slash "/".

All log messages outputted by the DNS Integrity Gateway as well as exception messages for when the DNS Integrity Gateway crashes are captured in error.log. Over time error.log can grow quickly in size so BlueCat recommends periodically backing up and clearing logs.

access.log captures all requests made to Apache and should also be cleared periodically.
