Gateway Administration Guide

BlueCat Gateway

The DNS Integrity Gateway is accessed via a web browser using either HTTP or HTTPS which is configured via the normal process for Apache2. On the back end, the DNS Integrity Gateway communicates with BAM and BDDS via a number of mechanisms. The most common is via the BAM REST API (against HTTP or HTTPS), but for some operations it will also form an SSH connection in order to use the command line interface. At some point (this is currently not implemented) it will also open direct connections to the BAM database in order to improve the performance of certain operations (for example, fetching large numbers of objects according to a particular UDF value).
