Once you have configured the DNS settings in Address Manager, you can proceed to
configure the GSS workflow.
To set up GSS:
- Log in to BlueCat Gateway.
- In the left navigation, click .
- Under ACL Scheduler, set the following parameters:
- Name—enter the name of the BlueCat Gateway user.
- Password—enter the password of the BlueCat Gateway user.
- Under DNS, review the following parameters:
- Server—displays the IP address of the Primary DNS
server where GSS will be sending dynamic updates.Note: This field is read-only and populated by the IP addresses of the DNS servers that were entered when executing the
docker run
command to start the GSS container.
- Server—displays the IP address of the Primary DNS
server where GSS will be sending dynamic updates.
- Under Configuration, you can update the following
parameters:
- GSS Region—enter the name of the GSS health-check region that this instance will update.
- Health Check Primary Role—select the server that will be used for the health check primary role.
- Health Check Secondary Roles—select the servers that will be used for the health check secondary role. Once you have selected a server, click the + icon to add the server.
- Configuration—enter the name of the Configuration in Address Manager that will be used when searching for GSS-enabled applications.
- Key—enter the name of the TSIG Key that will be used to authenticate the dynamic updates.
- View—enter the name of the View in Address Manager that will be used when searching for GSS-enabled applications.
- Under Logs, you can update the following parameters:
- Logging Level—selecting the GSS application logging level of events collected.
- Keep all logs—indicates whether all GSS application logs are retained.
- Number of logs to retain—enter the number of GSS application log files that are retained.
- Maximum log size—enter the maximum size of the GSS application log files, in megabytes.
Note: GSS application log files are stored under the /portal/logs directory as gss.log. - Click Submit to save your changes.
