Once you have entered the configuration information on the GSS Installation page, you can verify whether the installation was successful.



To verify the GSS installation.
  1. Log in to BlueCat Gateway.
  2. Under AVAILABLE ACTIONS, click DNSTrafficSteering > GSS Installation.
  3. Under Validate, verify the GSS installation. If the configured field is successfully set up, a green check mark appears next to the field. If the configured field is not successfully set up, a red X appears next to the field.
If a field is not successfully set up, the failure could be due to one of the following reasons:
Field Possible reason of failure
DNS Master The DNS/DHCP Server might not be configured or functioning correctly.
Time Synchronization The time settings of GSS is not synchronized with the time on the DNS/DHCP Server.
TSIG Key The TSIG key might have been input incorrectly. Verify that the key is input in the following format:
<hmac>:<name>:<key>

Where <hmac> is the algorithm used for the TSIG key, <name> is the name of the TSIG key, and <key> is the key itself.

GSS Zone The gss.bluecat zone might have failed to deploy to the DNS/DHCP Server.
TSIG Tag The data UDF is missing in the Tag object type in the Address Manager configuration.
User / Pass The username or password entered is incorrect.
Configuration The Configuration selected is invalid or does not exist.
View The View selected is invalid or does not exist.

Once you have successfully completed the GSS installation, restart the GSS container to reload the health-check server with the new configuration.
