Once you have entered the configuration information on the GSS Installation page, you can verify whether the installation was successful.
To verify the GSS installation.
- Log in to BlueCat Gateway.
- Under AVAILABLE ACTIONS, click .
- Under Validate, verify the GSS installation. If the configured field is successfully set up, a green check mark appears next to the field. If the configured field is not successfully set up, a red X appears next to the field.
If a field is not successfully set up, the failure could be due to one of the following
reasons:
Field | Possible reason of failure |

DNS Master | The DNS/DHCP Server might not be configured or functioning correctly. |
Time Synchronization | The time settings of GSS is not synchronized with the time on the DNS/DHCP Server. |
TSIG Key | The TSIG key might have been input incorrectly. Verify that the
key is input in the following
format:<hmac>:<name>:<key> Where <hmac> is the algorithm used for the TSIG key, <name> is the name of the TSIG key, and <key> is the key itself. |
GSS Zone | The gss.bluecat zone might have failed to deploy to the DNS/DHCP Server. |
TSIG Tag | The data UDF is missing in the Tag object type in the Address Manager configuration. |
User / Pass | The username or password entered is incorrect. |
Configuration | The Configuration selected is invalid or does not exist. |
View | The View selected is invalid or does not exist. |
Once you have successfully completed the GSS installation, restart the GSS container to reload the health-check server with the new configuration.
