Once you have entered the configuration information on the GSS Installation page and deployed the changes to the relevant DNS servers, you can return to the GSS installation page to verify whether the installation was successful.
To verify the GSS installation.
- In the left navigation, click .
- Under Validation, verify the GSS installation. If the
configured field is successfully set up, a green check mark appears next to the
field. If the configured field is not successfully set up, a red X appears next
to the field.Note: You can click the See details link under the Test Queries link to view a list of DNS validation test queries performed.
If one problematic field causes other tests to fail, only the first failed field displays a red X and the other fields display a pause icon until the primary field is fixed.
If a field is not successfully set up, the failure could be due to one of the following
reasons:
Field | Possible reason of failure |
---|---|
DNS primary | The DNS/DHCP Server might not be configured or functioning correctly. |
Tsig Key | The TSIG key selection has not yet been selected and submitted in the workflow installation on this instance of GSS. |
Time Synchronization | The time settings of GSS is not synchronized with the time on the DNS/DHCP Server. |
GSS zone | The gss.bluecat zone might have failed to deploy to the DNS/DHCP Server. |
Allow Zone Transfer | The Allow Zone Transfer option applied to the GSS zone does not include the configured TSIG key. |
Tag Object data UDF | The Tag Object data UDF is missing in the Tag object type in Address Manager. You can click the CREATE UDFs button next to the Object UDF field to create the UDF within Address Manager. A data text field is added to Tag objects so that GSS can store additional information on the Region tag object. |
Resource Record GSS UDF | The Resource Record GSS UDF is missing in
the Resource Record object type in Address Manager. You can click
the CREATE UDFs button next to the
Object UDF field to create the UDF within
Address Manager. A GSS workflow field is added to the
Resource Record object to provide a cross-launch link to the GSS
application. This also selects between standard GSS functionality
and a more limited NAT workflow. Note: The base URL of the GSS
installation page is used as the cross-launch link. BlueCat
recommends accessing GSS using the preferred name when creating
the UDFs.
|
User/Pass | The BlueCat Gateway username and password entered in the installation is workflow is invalid or incorrect. |
Configuration | The Configuration selected is invalid or does not exist. |
DNS View | The View selected is invalid or does not exist. |
GSS Region | No health-check zone exists for the selected region. Verify that the region exists and that the health-check region has been selected in the Region Management workflow. |
Once you have successfully completed the GSS installation, restart the GSS container to reload the health-check server with the new configuration.
