When you enable User Tracking, Hybrid DNS Update updates a Last Modified By field to indicate that changes have been made to an object. The value of the field contains the username of the Gateway user that made the change using Hybrid DNS Update.
Note: This field is only required when using the privilege elevation feature. For more information, refer to Ensuring consistency with access control and privilege elevation.

If the Last Modified By field is not required, do not enable User Tracking. If the User Tracking field is required, you must add the Last Modified By field to all object types that are updated by Hybrid DNS Update.

To add the Last Modified By UDF and enable User Tracking:
  1. Expand the User Defined Field section.
  2. Select Last Modified By as the Display Name.
  3. Select the object types that are updated by Hybrid DNS Update as the Object Type.
  4. Select the Enable User Tracking checkbox.
  5. Click Submit.
