Use external authentication like Single Sign On (SSO) and keep Role Based Access Controls (RBAC) internal to LiveNX by defining a group to which the users are automatically assigned.
We have added a new workflow that allows a LiveNX admin to specify an RBAC group to which new SSO users should be assigned.
New users who log in for the first time using SSO will have an account created within an admin-defined user group. This group will likely have limited access, so an admin is required to log in and assign the new user to a specific group. Subsequent logins via SSO will not modify this assignment. For setup instructions, see below.
- Log in to LiveNX as an admin, click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select
Settings.
-
Select External Authentication, then click Single Sign On. You will see a new checkbox under the Static group assignment.
Note: The default state is unchecked, maintaining the behavior of the previous versions.Hovering over the info icon offers an explanation of the behavior.
