25.3.0

The root cause analysis dashboard is a quick way to see what alerts others have ran a root cause assist on. LiveAssist helps you understand and identify issues by providing an in-depth analysis of entities and alerts. Any alert can be analyzed by LiveAssist, and it will use all the data available to provide the best analysis.

Important: LiveAssist must be registered and enabled in LiveNX by an admin user.

On-demand alert analysis

Any alert can be analyzed by selecting the alert and clicking Run Analysis.

Run analysis button

You will receive a summary of the analysis, as shown below:

Once an alert has been executed, you have several options for next steps:

  • Save Analysis - Stores the analysis into the alert so it can be viewed later by other users who have access to both the alert and LiveAssist

  • Continue Conversation in LiveAssist - Opens a LiveAssist chat with the analysis pre-populated. Users can ask follow up questions to dive more into the data.

  • Re-run Analysis - Re-runs the analysis. Useful to update an existing analysis as LiveAssist gets smarter.

  • Delete Analysis - Once an analysis has been saved, it can be removed if users feel the analysis is no longer helpful for the alert.

On-demand entity analysis

Anywhere you see status information, you can also see the alerts that are causing that status for the entity (site, device, interface). Now with one click you can also learn more about the issues that are occurring on that entity.

LiveAssist helper icon

This LiveAssist helper icon is available on all status pop-ups. Clicking it does the following:

  • Creates a new chat with an appropriately crafted query to understand the issues with that entity.

  • Opens LiveAssist to that chat.

  • Provides an analysis of the data sources available to LiveAssist.

  • Attempts to provide recommended actions.

Important:
  • The alert information can take time to populate into the Alert_Inventory table. This means LiveAssist analysis may not include the latest alert info.

  • There is a TTL of 30 days on the Structured_Event table (which drives the Alert_Inventory materialized view). This means alerts older than 30 days should not be used for analysis.

  • Only admin role users can use LiveAssist.

  • RCAs from previous versions are not deleted. If users want an RCA using the newer LiveAssist, they will need to manually “re-run analysis” on each one.
