Under General, enter the following information:
- Name: enter a descriptive name of the Capture Engine.
- IP address: select the IP address that you would like to
use to communicate with the Capture Engine. You can select a configured IP
address or one of the following options:
- Any address: when selecting, the Capture Engine can accept communications from any of the configured IPv4 or IPv6 addresses.
- 127.0.0.1: when selected, the Capture Engine
cannot be remotely accessed.Attention: This option only relates to how Omnipeek Windows connects to the Capture Engine.
- Port: enter the port that will be used to for communications. The default port is 6367.
- Max connections: enter the maximum concurrent connections that can connect to the Capture Engine at once. The default value is 100.
- Enable auto discovery: select this option to enable the
Capture Engine to respond to autodiscovery requests that arrive from the Capture
Engine Manager.Attention: This option only applies to Omnipeek Windows auto discovery of Capture Engine.
- Automatically restart captures: select this option to automatically restart captures whenever the Capture Engine restarts. When enabled, the Capture Engine remembers any captures, active or idle, defined for it and restores the capture whenever the Capture Engine itself restarts.
- Data folder: enter the folder path to which data will be written on the LiveWire. Select Browse to navigate the LiveWire folder structure and select the folder in which data is written. The default folder is /var/lib/omni/data
- Log max: enter the maximum number of log records that can be written in the application log. These are the log records you see in the Capture Engine log view.
- Log adjust: enter the number of application log records that are deleted when the maximum number of log records is reached. The oldest records are deleted first.
