The Settings view displays the settings below.

• Filters: The Filters view displays all of the filters available for LiveWire. These include pre-defined filters as well as any that you have modified or created.
  • Import: Select to import a filter and its settings that were saved previously.
  • Export: Select to export the filters and their settings to your hard disk.
  • Refresh: Select to refresh the Filters view.
  • Search: Type the text string to search for in the Filters view.
  • Edit: Select to edit the settings for the selected filter.
  • Duplicate: Select to duplicate the selected filter and its settings.
  • Delete: Select to delete the selected filter.
  • Export selected: Select to export the selected filters and their settings.
• Graphs: The Graphs view displays all of the graphs available for LiveWire. These include pre-defined graphs as well as any that you have modified or created.
  • Refresh: Select to refresh the Graphs view.
  • Search: Type the text string to search for in the Graphs view.
  • Insert: Select to add and configure a new graph.
  • Edit: Select to edit the settings for the selected graph.
  • Delete: Select to delete the selected graph.
• Alarms: The Alarms view displays all of the alarms available for LiveWire. You can choose to Edit, Duplicate, and Delete each alarm.
  • Search: Type the text string to search for in the Alarms view.
  • Refresh: Select to refresh the Alarms view.
  • Enable column filters: Select to enable/disable filtering for the columns in the Alarms view. A filter box is displayed for each column when this is enabled.
• Notifications: The Notifications view displays all of the notifications for LiveWire. You can choose to Edit, Duplicate, and Delete each notification.
  • Search: Type the text string to search for in the Notifications view.
  • Insert: Select to add and configure a notification .
  • Test notifications: Select to test the notification.
  • Refresh: Select to refresh the Notifications view.
• Protocol translations: The Protocol translations view lets you translate TCP, UDP, SCTP, and SCTP Payload ID packets on a specific port (or SCTP payload ID) to a specific protocol. For example, if you want to categorize all TCP traffic occurring on port 32000 as HTTP traffic, you would simply create a protocol translation identifying TCP Port as the type of packet, 32000 as the port number, and HTTP as the protocol the packets are translated to. TCP packets can only be translated to TCP-based protocols, UDP packets to UDP-based protocols, and SCTP packets to SCTP-based protocols.
  • Insert: Select to add and configure a protocol translation.
  • Edit: Select to edit the selected protocol translation.
  • Delete: Select to delete the selected protocol translation.
  • Refresh: Select to refresh the Protocol translations view.
• Name table: The Name table view lets you assign symbolic names to addresses, ports and protocols. When you are collecting statistics, LiveWire scans all traffic for logical and symbolic names in the contents of passing packets. You can control how and whether these passively discovered names are added to the Name Table.
  • Import: Select to import a name that was saved previously.
  • Export: Select to export a name and its settings to your hard disk.
  • Refresh: Select to refresh the Name table view.
  • Addresses: Select to display Addresses in the Name table view.
  • Protocols: Select to display Protocols in the Name table view.
  • Ports: Select to display Ports in the Name table view.
  • Search: Type the text string to search for in the Name table view.
  • Insert: Select to add and configure a name in the Name table view.
  • Edit: Select to edit the settings for the selected name.
  • Delete: Select to delete the selected name and its settings.
  • Make filter: Select to make a filter from the selected name.
• Analysis modules: The Analysis modules view lets you view the Analysis Modules in LiveWire. Analysis Modules are external plug-ins that provide additional highly focused analysis features to LiveWire. An Analysis Module tests network traffic and provides detailed summaries and counts of key parameters, posting its results to the Summary Statistics windows and to the Summary column of the Packets view of a capture.
  • Search: Type the text string to search for in the Analysis modules view.
• Decryption keys: The Decryption keys view lets you view the Decryption keys in LiveWire. Decryption keys allow you to decrypt encrypted packets in a capture.
  • Refresh: Select to refresh the Decryption keys view.
  • Search: Type the text string to search for in the Decryption keys view.
  • Insert: Select to add and configure a Decryption key in the Decryption keys view.
  • Edit: Select to edit the settings for the selected Decryption key.
  • Delete: Select to delete the selected Decryption key.
• Hardware profiles: The Hardware profiles view lets you view the Hardware profiles that can be applied to a capture adapter or a capture depending on the model of your capture adapter. Hardware profiles tell a capture adapter or a capture the type of traffic to capture and how to manage that traffic. Hardware profiles can slice the packets, discard error packets, and apply an address or a port filter. Different settings can be applied per capture adapter channel as well. Decryption keys allow you to decrypt encrypted packets in a capture.
  • Import: Select to import a Hardware profile that was saved previously.
  • Export: Select to export the Hardware profiles to your hard disk.
  • Refresh: Select to refresh the Hardware profiles view.
  • Search: Type the text string to search for in the Hardware profiles view.
  • Insert: Select to add and configure a Hardware profile in the Hardware profiles view.
  • Edit: Select to edit the settings for the selected Hardware profile.
  • Duplicate: Select to duplicate the selected Hardware profile.
  • Delete: Select to delete the selected Hardware profile.
  • Export selected: Select to save the selected Hardware profile to your hard disk.
