Before adding a Kea DHCP server to Micetro, you need to install the DHCP Agent on the server host and make sure that Micetro Central can access port 4151. For instructions on installing DHCP Agents, refer to Installing Micetro DHCP Agents on Windows or Installing Micetro DHCP Agents on Linux.

To add a Kea DHCP server:

  1. On the Service management tab of the Admin page, select Add service on the task bar.
  2. In the wizard, select Kea from the list of services and then select Next.
  3. Select an Agent from the dropdown.
  4. Enter the Server name. If the Kea service does not use the default port 8000, add a port number to the server name in the format server:port. If no port is provided, the default port 8000 is assumed.
  5. If Micetro Central should not connect to the resolved IP address of the server, enter an IP address in the Server address field.
  6. If the Kea service uses basic HTTP authentication, enter the Username and Password of an authenticated user.
  7. Select Next.
  8. (Optional) In the Custom properties step, set optional custom property values for the service, such as authority and region. When finished, select Next.
  9. Review the service Summary. If you need to make any changes to the service, use the Back button to return to any of the previous steps.
  10. Select Add.

The Kea DHCP service will appear in the Service management data grid, from which you can manage it by defining options, managing client classifications, and more.

If the Kea service is a standalone service, it will be displayed as two different servers in Micetro: once as a DHCPv4 service and once as a DHCPv6 service. This means, for example, that only tasks for DHCPv4 will be offered in the Action menu for a stsandalone DHCPv4 service, such as the Manage DHCPv4 options task.
