The Add IPv4 Reconciliation Policy page lets you add a new reconciliation policy for managing IPv4 IP addresses and DNS requests.

To add a new IPv4 reconciliation policy:

  1. From Gateway, click Network Discovery (in the left sidebar), select IPv4, and click Add IPv4 Reconciliation Policy.
  2. Enter settings for the new reconciliation policy as described in the table below. When you're done, click Add.
Field Description
Configuration The Configuration used in Address Manager when discovering the Network.
Policy Name

The current name of the policy. The name cannot contain a slash character (/)

Network Boundary list The Network Boundaries for discovery. Separate items in the list with commas.
Discovery Method The method used for discovery. This can be SNMP, PingSweep, or SNMP plus PingSweep.
Number of Tries Number of attempts to run Network Discovery during a Pingsweep.
Active Status Whether or not this policy is active.
SNMP Version The version of SNMP to use (v1, v2c, or v3).
SNMP Community List The SNMP community string. Separate items in this list with commas.
SNMP User List The list of SNMP users, separated by commas. Applicable only when SNMP version is v3.
SNMP Context The SNMP Context for the network.
SNMP Security Level The SNMP security level (NOAUTHNOPRIV, AUTHNOPRIV, AUTHPRIV).
SNMP Authentication Type The type of authentication used (MD5 or SHA).
SNMP Authentication Passphrase The SNMP Authentication password.
SNMP Privacy Type The SNMP privacy type (DES or AES128).
SNMP Privacy Passphrase The SNMP privacy password.
SNMP Seed Router List The seed routers used for network discovery. Separate items in the list with commas.
SNMP VRF Context List The VRF (virtual routing and forwarding) context list used for network discovery. Separate items in the list with commas.
Note: Unless specified by BlueCat support, leave this field empty. The Network Discovery app will automatically discover all available VRF contexts in the network.
Skip neighbor discovery Whether or not to skip neighbor discovery.
SNMP Mgmt Context List The Management VRF context list for neighbor discovery. Separate items in the list with commas.
Note: Unless specified by BlueCat support, leave this field empty. The Network Discovery app will automatically discover all available neighbor VRF contexts in the network.
SNMP Port The SNMP port.
Ping Sweep (CIDR) (Required if SNMP Discovery Method is PingSweep or SNMP plus PingSweep) The ranges of IP addresses for which the Ping Sweep method sends ICMP echo requests. Specify IP addresses in CIDR notation, separated by commas.
DNS Server List (Required if SNMP Discovery Method is PingSweep or SNMP plus PingSweep) The list of DNS servers, separated by commas.
Skip FQDN Lookup/Reverse DNS Resolution Whether or not to skip FQDN Lookup DNS.
Black Hole VLAN The input Black Hole VLAN.
Trunk Default VLAN The input Trunk Default VLAN
Scheduled Time The scheduled time for running discovery.
ONCE Specifies to run discovery a single time after creating the policy.
EVERY Specifies to run discovery every N minutes, hours, or days after creating the policy.
