In order to use the Network Discovery app, you must set up a Configuration for it within BlueCat Address Manager.
The Network Discovery application works by pushing JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) files to BlueCat Address Manager (BAM). In turn, BAM reads the JSON files for reconciliation within the BAM user interface. The Network Discovery app uses regular BAM credentials when accessing the BAM API and needs SSH credentials to connect and copy the output JSON files to BAM.
From within Address Manager, click the Administration tab.
In the General section, choose Configurations.
In the Configurations page, select New.
In the window that appears, enter the following:
Field Description Name A name for your Network Discovery Configuration. Configuration names are case-sensitive. Description (Optional) A description of your Configuration. Configuration Group A name for the Configuration Group. This name appears in drop-down menus on the top right corner of tabs throughout Address Manager (except for the Administration and Groups tabs). Leave the other fields empty.
When you're done, click Add.
