The Discovery IPv4 and Discovery IPv6 tabs lists the Policies that Network Discovery applies to network resources that are discovered on IPv4 and IPv6 networks, respectively.

The Discovery tabs are where you add, update, and delete reconciliation policies. To run a reconcilation policy, use the appropriate Management tab.

Tip: If there are too many policies to fit on a single page, you can click Next and Previous buttons to cycle through the list. You can specify how many policies to display on a single page in the Page size setting.

Each device entry on the table has the following attributes:

Field Description
Policy name

The current name of the policy.

IP network

The URL or IP address of the network that the policy applies to.

Configuration The Configuration in Address Manager that contains the resources that the policy applices to.
Discovery method The method used for discovery. This can be SNMP, PingSweep, or SNMP plus PingSweep.
Device The name of the device that the policy applies to.
Network boundary After discovery finishes on a device, click the eye icon here to view the full log from the Discovery Engine. Click the download button next to it to download the log file.
Schedule The scheduled date and time at which this reconciliation policy is set to start.
Start time The last time the schedule was started.
Activate Toggle the policy on or off. Policies take effect only when they're activated.
Discovery Logs

Click the Log button (the eye) in this column to view a log of events and notifications related to the policy. To change the log level for the policy, select a new log level and click Update.

To download the policy, click the download button next to the eye.

To filter the list of policies:

  1. From Network Discovery, click the Discovery IPv4 or Discovery IPv6 tab (depending on the type of network you're interested in).

  2. In the blue filter bar at the top of the table, enter the parameters by which you want to filter the list:

    • Configuration: Select the name of the Address Manager Configuration that contains the policies you want to see. To view policies from all Configurations, select All Configurations.

    • Policy Name: Filter by the name or partial name of the policy.

    • Device: Filter by the name of the device that the policy is associated with.
    • IP network: Display only policies from the indicated IP network. Separate multiple IP addresses with commas, and do not include any spaces. Use addresses appropriate to the network type (IPv4 or IPv6).

    • Discovery Method: Display only policies that use the specified discovery method (SNMP, PingSweep, or SNMP Plus PingSweep). Select All Methods to view policies that use any discovery method.

  3. The list is automatically filtered when selecting filter items from a list. To apply text filters, click Apply.

    To clear the filter settings, click Clear.

To refresh the list of policies:

  • Click Refresh.
