The Discovery tab lists the policies that are applied to discovered network resources. You add, update, or delete policies in the Discovery tab.
When adding or updating a policy in the Discovery tab, you can configure the following attributes:

Choose Named Policy to create a new named policy that can apply to multiple networks. Choose Policy Per Network to create a new policy for a specific network. |

Network Boundary list |
(Named Policy only) The Network Boundaries for discovery. Separate items in the list with commas. |
Block or IP network |
(Policy Per Network only) The IP network as it exists in the Configuration within Address Manager. |
Network Boundary |
(Policy Per Network only) Displays the IP network boundaries of the network you chose in Block or IP network. |
Discovery probe list | The list of docker containers that run discovery probes for the
Network Discovery app to which the policy applies. Tip: Manipulation of the Discovery Probe list is typically done only
during scripted and customized actions, such as automating
deployment of Network Discovery probes. Most users can simply add new
probes using the Network Discovery
UI.

Discovery method | The method used for discovery. This can be SNMP ,
PingSweep , or SNMP plus
PingSweep . Note: The choice of of whether or not to use
SNMP or PingSweep (or both) will reveal additional settings
specific to that option.

If the Discovery Method includes Pingsweep(that is, it is PingSweep or SNMP plus PingSweep), a policy in the Discovery tab will also have the following attribrutes:

Number of tries | Number of attempts to run Network Discovery during a Pingsweep. |
Ping Sweep (CIDR) | The ranges of IP addresses for which the Ping Sweep method sends ICMP echo requests. Specify IP addresses in CIDR notation, separated by commas. |
DNS Server List | The list of DNS servers, separated by commas. |
