The Approval lifecycle page displays details on the approval requests. Administrators can view and process (approve, decline) all requests while approvers can view and process requests only for approval-managed zones and networks to which they are assigned as approvers. Request creators (including regular users) can only cancel a request they've created; the request must be in Pending state in order to be eligible for deletion.
Note: Approvers cannot approve or decline their own requests.

Tip: To view the latest list and status of approval requests, click the refresh icon located at the top of the approval lifecycle table.

The approval lifecycle table displays the following details:

Column Description
ID Displays a unique ID, which is automatically generated by Quick Service, for the approval request.
Configuration Displays the name of the configuration to which the specific zone or network (that is, the approval-managed object) belongs.
View Displays the name of the view to which the specific zone or network (that is, the approval-managed object) belongs. If no view is associated, this column is blank.
Zone/Network Displays the name of the approval-managed object for which a change was made, and approval of the change is requested.
Tip: Click the search icon in this column to quickly search for a specific zone or network.
Operation Displays the name (type) of operation that was executed as part of the approval request. The possible options are Create, Edit, and Delete.
Tip: Click the filter icon in this column to select one or more operations by which you want to filter the table.
User Displays the name of the user that made the change.
Tip: Click the filter icon in this column to select one or more users by which you want to filter the table.
Created At Displays the date and time when the request was first submitted.
Note: The displayed date and time do not change upon modification or reassignment of the request.
Last Updated Displays the date and time when the request was last modified; the displayed value updates automatically whenever the request's state changes (for example, from Pending to Approved or Declined, or due to a modification).
Note: If the request is not modified after submission, this column displays the date and time when the request was first submitted (that is, the same value displayed in the Created At column).
Status Displays the status of the approval request. The possible options are:
  • Pending—the request has been submitted by the user but is not approved, declined, or canceled yet.

  • Canceled—the request has been canceled by the user.

  • Approved—the request has been approved by either the approver or administrator.

  • Declined—the request has been declined by either the approver or administrator.

  • Failed—the request could not be approved due to an error.

Tip: Click the filter icon in this column to select one or more statuses by which you want to filter the table.
View details (eye icon) View the detailed list of changes requested, by clicking the eye icon in this column. The View approval details window appears, displaying various details and options. For more information, refer to the following table.

When you select the eye icon, the View approval details window appears, displaying the following details and options:

Requested changes Displays a list of all the changes that are part of the approval request, including existing and proposed values.
Unaffected fields Displays a list of all the other values of the affected object, which are not part of the approval request and therefore, are unaffected by the approval request.
Available options
Cancel request This option is available only to the creator of the approval request that is in pending state. The creator can select this option to cancel the approval request.
Approve This option is available only to administrators and assigned approvers.
Note: Approvers cannot approve their own requests.
An administrator or assigned approver can select this option to approve a request. The status of the request is updated to Approved, and the changes are applied to the object.
Decline This option is available only to administrators and assigned approvers.
Note: Approvers cannot decline their own requests.
An administrator or assigned approver can select this option to decline a request. The status of the request is updated to Declined, and the changes are not applied to the object.
Close This option is available to all users. When this option is selected, the View approval details window is closed, and the request state is unchanged.
