To ensure that all Quick Service features work correctly while maintaining a high level of security, you must create the following types of Quick Service users in Address Manager:
To create a user, navigate to the Add User page in Address Manager:
  1. Select the Administration tab.

  2. Under User Management, click Users and Groups, then click New.

Refer to the following sections for the procedure to create the different types of users.

Create an Administrator User

The Quick Service Admin user has administrative access to the Quick Service workflows, and is responsible for configuring Address Manager, Gateway, and Quick Service.

Use the following procedure to create an Admin user:

  1. Under User, enter a name for the Admin user (for example, BlueCatGateway, qs-admin).

  2. Under Authentication, type and confirm the user’s Address Manager password in the Password and Confirm Password fields.

  3. If you have defined authenticators, an Other check box and a drop-down menu open. To select an external authenticator, click Other and select an authenticator from the menu.

Note: If an external authenticator is used, the name in the Username field must match the user name on the remote authentication system.
  4. Under Extra Information, set the following:

    • E-mail Address: The user’s email address (required).

    • Phone Number: The user’s phone number.

  5. Under User Access, define the user type, security and history privileges, and access type:

    • Type of User: Select Administrator or Non-Administrator.
Note: For Quick Service Admin and System users, you must select the Administrator user type. Other Quick Service users can be defined with the Non-Administrator user type.
Tip: To let administrator users quickly grant permissions to BlueCat Gateway workflows and operations, you can add Administrator users to BlueCat Gateway User Groups.
Note: The Security Privilege and History Privilege fields are unavailable if the user type is Administrator.
    • Access Type: Select GUI and API.

    • X.509 Required Leave blank.

  6. Under Additional information, type admin in the BlueCatGateway UDF field. Ensure that this matches the tag name created previously (for reference, see Creating the Quick Service Tags).

  7. Under Change Control, add comments to describe the changes. In most cases comments are optional, but some organizations require it as a best practice.

  8. Click Add to create the user and return to the Users and Groups page, or click Add Next to add another user.

  3. If you have defined authenticators, an Other check box and a drop-down menu open. To select an external authenticator, click Other and select an authenticator from the menu.

Note: If an external authenticator is used, the name in the Username field must match the user name on the remote authentication system.
