Note: To create or edit an xDNS profile, you must have administrative access within
Micetro to the DNS services you want to include.
To create an xDNS profile:
- Navigate to and select xDNS profiles in the left sidebar.
- Select Create profile in the lower right corner of the xDNS profiles data grid.
- In the dialog, configure the profile by entering the following information:
- Profile name: Enter a unique identifier for the profile.
- Description: (Optional) Enter a description of the profile's purpose.
- Conflict strategy: Select one of the following options to determines-
whether Micetro overwrites or merges record conflicts that may arise during
synchronization. This setting also serves as the default when adding new
zones to the profile.
- Overwrite existing zones: If a zone with the same name exists on any other DNS service included in the xDNS profile, its records will be overwritten with the record data from the zone instance being added to the xDNS profile.
- Merge records: If a zone with the same name exists on any secondary service, its contents will be merged with the contents of the zone on the primary service.
- Servers: Select at least two DNS services to add to the profile.
After adding a service, you can configure whether it rejects external
changes using the Reject external changes toggle
button. If you toggle this setting on, changes to record data made on one
service outside Micetro will not be replicated by xDNS to other
services.Note: The list of servers cannot be changed after the profile has been created.

- Use the Row ... menu to select Edit. You can also double-click the profile.
- In the dialog, edit the profile as needed.Note: You cannot edit the list of servers in the profile NOR whether they reject external changes.
