Micetro enables you to define manage DHCPv4 options, as well as as custom options, on your ISC DHCP servers. Options might include time offset, default IP time-to-live, routers, etc.
To manage DHCPv4 options on your ISC DHCP server:
- On the Admin page, select the Service management tab.
- Select ISC DHCP under DHCP services in the left sidebar, and then the applicable DHCP server in the data grid.
- On the Action or Row … menu, select Manage DHCPv4 options.
- The Manage DHCP Options dialog displays all custom options defined on the DHCP server.
- Use the dropdown to select the ISC DHCP option you want to define.
- To delete an option, hover over its field, and then select the trash can icon next to it.
- Select Save to save the changed option definitions.
Viewing custom DHCP options
At any time, you can check which custom DHCP options are defined on an ISC DHCP server, so you can manage them accordingly.
To view the defined custom DHCP options:
- Locate the ISC DHCP server in the Service management data grid.
- Use either the Action or Row ... menu to select Manage custom DHCPv4 options.
The dialog displays a list of all the custom DHCP options defined on the server. From here, you can edit custom options and remove them, if necessary.
Adding custom DHCP options
You can add custom DHCP options to your ISC DHCP server to tailor it to your needs. Once you define a custom option, you can set its value in the Manage DHCPv4 options task. Refer to the section above for instructions on managing standard DHCP options.
To add a custom DHCP option:
- Locate the ISC DHCP server in the Service management data grid.
- Use either the Action or Row ... menu to select either Manage custom DHCPv4 options
- In the dialog, select + Add custom option.
- Enter the desired ID number for the option. An error will be displayed if that
ID is not available or invalid.Note: All options from 1–120 are predefined.
- Enter a name for the option.
- Select a type in the dropdown, e.g., string, hexadecimal, boolean, IP address or hostname, number (8-bit, 16-bit, or 32-bit).
- Select Add, and then Save.
You can now manage the custom option's value from the Manage DHCP options dialog.
Editing custom DHCP options
It's possible to edit the ID number of a custom DHCP option on an ISC DHCP server.
To edit a custom DHCP option:
- In the Manage custom DHCPv4 options dialog, locate the custom option you want to edit.
- Use the Row … menu to select Edit.
- Edit the custom option's ID.
- Select Save.
Removing custom DHCP options
To remove a custom DHCP option from an ISC DHCP server:
- In the Manage custom DHCPv4 options dialog, locate the custom option you want to edit.
- Use the Row … menu to select Remove.
- Select Yes to confirm.
