You can manage existing DNS Answers by using the Action icon on the Answers tab.

Deleting Answers



To delete an Answer:
  1. On the Global Server Selector page, select the Answers tab.
  2. Under Answers, select the checkbox next to one or more answers
  3. Click Action > Delete Selected to delete the answers.

Checking Answers

You can use the Check Now action to run a health check of the selected answer.
Note: You must configure the Health Check settings before using this action. For more information, refer to Configuring the GSS Health Check.


To check an Answer:
  1. On the Global Server Selector page, select the Answers tab.
  2. Under Answers, select the checkbox next to one or more answers
  3. Click Action > Check Now to check the health of the answers.

GSS performs a check of the selected answer and displays the status in the Status column.

Force Up Answers

You can use the Force Up action to force the selected answers to become active



To force up an Answer:
  1. On the Global Server Selector page, select the Answers tab.
  2. Under Answers, select the checkbox next to one or more answers
  3. Click Action > Force Up to force the answers to become active.

Force Down Answers

You can use the Force Down action to force the selected answers to become inactive



To force down an Answer:
  1. On the Global Server Selector page, select the Answers tab.
  2. Under Answers, select the checkbox next to one or more answers
  3. Click Action > Force Down to force the answers to become inactive.

Set to Auto Answers

You can use the Set to Auto action to update the status of the answer to active or inactive depending on the health check results.
Note: You must configure the Health Check settings before using this action. For more information, refer to Configuring the GSS Health Check.


To set to auto Answer:
  1. On the Global Server Selector page, select the Answers tab.
  2. Under Answers, select the checkbox next to one or more answers
  3. Click Action > Set to Auto to force the answers to become inactive or active depending on the health check results.

Once you configure the Set to Auto action, the value Auto appears in the Config column.
