This section outlines what entities are deployed in addition to the entities defined in the deployment task created using the selectiveDeploy when the related scope is defined.

Note: The current list of selective deployment related scope behavior is not exhaustive.
  • When deploying an added or edited Host record or IP address, the associated A, AAAA, and PTR records are also deployed.
  • When deploying a new CNAME, MX, or SRV record, the associated Host, PTR, A, and AAAA records are also deployed.
Note: If you have made any change to the Host, PTR, A, or AAAA records and you have not yet deployed that change, the selective deployment of the associated CNAME, MX, or SRV record fails. You must first deploy the changed Host, PTR, A, or AAAA records before deploying the associated CNAME, MX, or SRV record.
  • When deploying a renamed linkable CNAME or Host record, the related SRV, CNAME, PTR, and MX records are also updated to reference the renamed resource record.
  • When deploying a deletion of a record, the records that depend on the deleted resource record, such as CNAME records, are also deleted.
