User-defined links were created to assist with cloud adoption by providing centralized visibility into network architecture. UDLs can be used to gain additional context by identifying implicit network relationships, such as defining the implicit relationships between both sides of Network Address Translation (NAT). They can also be used to speed up navigation, when used to document how overlapping address space defined into two or more different Address Manager configurations is related. Another common usage of UDLs is to identify IPv4 and IPv6 relationships when using Dual Stack.
