Create and deploy DHCPv6 reserved addresses.

IPv6 block, network and addresses must already exist. If not, add the necessary IPv6 objects first.

To create a DHCPv6 Reserved address:

  1. Obtain the DUID of the client requesting the DHCPv6 reservation.
On a Windows 7 client, this can be found by running the ipconfig command from Command Prompt.
  2. Navigate to the IPv6 network level and select an address from the list.
The address must either be in the unassigned or DHCP reserved state. IPv6 addresses that have already been assigned as static addresses can't be modified to the DHCP reserved address.
  3. Under Select Action, choose DHCP Reserved from the Type of Action drop-down menu.
  4. Under General IP Options, enter the DHCP Unique Identifier in the Client DUID field.
