Once you've configured a DNS Edge service point on a supported DNS/DHCP Server, you
can view the service point health and configuration details in the service point diagnostics
output.
These details can help you determine whether the service point successfully
registered with the Edge cloud. If the registration fails, the diagnostics can also
provide insight into the cause of failure.
To view the service point diagnostics:
-
Select the Servers tab. Tabs remember the page you last
worked on, so select the tab again to ensure you're on the
Configuration information page.
-
Under Servers, click a server name.
-
Click the server name menu and select Service
Configuration.
-
From the Service Type drop-down menu, select Edge
service point.
-
Click to expand the Edge Service Point Status
section.
Review the output to monitor the service point status and diagnostics. If
you've successfully configured the service point, "spStatus":
"GOOD"
shows in the first line of the output. The service point
is ready to process all incoming IPv4 DNS queries and try to resolve it
using its defined forwarder(s).
Tip: Click View as Text to view the contents
of the service point configuration file in a new browser page. This allows
you to easily copy or save the contents as a text file.
Tip: Alternative method of viewing the service point diagnostics
outputTo view the diagnostics output, you can also use the
following API
call:
http://<service point IPv4 address>/v1/status/spDiagnostics
Note: The service point diagnostics output is available on any IPv4 address
attached to the Service Interface (eth0).
For information on additional details you can find in the diagnostics output,
refer to Service point diagnostics API in the
DNS Edge API Guide or the Edge Online Help.
