By default, DNS Edge service points are configured to automatically update to the latest version when a new version is deployed. If you do not have automatic service point updates configured in the DNS Edge Cloud, you must manually update the DNS Edge service point.

The following section outlines scenarios when you are planning on upgrading your DNS/DHCP Server software version and you have a DNS Edge service point deployed on that DNS/DHCP Server.

Applying a patch on DNS/DHCP Servers

If you have a DNS Edge service point configured on your DNS/DHCP Server and you are planning on applying a patch to the DNS/DHCP Server, such as a patch application of v9.3.x, no additional steps must be performed in addition to the patch application.

Performing an upgrade of DNS/DHCP Servers

If you have a DNS Edge service point configured on your DNS/DHCP Server and you are planning on upgrading the DNS/DHCP Server software from v9.2.0 to v9.3.0, you must first update the DNS Edge service point version to service point v3.2.x or later before performing the upgrade on the DNS/DHCP Server. Upgrading to a later version of DNS Edge service point software suppresses verbose warning logging that can cause extraneous logging to syslog and impact the performance.
