In the FC00::/6 Unique Local Address Space, blocks can range in size from /6 to /126. In the 2000::/3 Global Unicast Address Space, blocks can range in size from /3 to /126.
You can also add child blocks to parent IPv6 blocks in either the Unique Local or Global Unicast Address Spaces.
When you delete an IPv6 block, any child objects are also deleted.
To add an IPv6 block:
- Select the IP Space tab. Tabs remember the page you last worked on, so select the tab again to ensure you're on the Configuration information page.
- From the configuration drop-down menu, select a configuration.
- Click the IPv6 tab. In the IPv6 Blocks section, click the FC00::/6 or the 2003::/3 address space.

Choose one of the following tasks:
To edit a block
- Under Address Space, click the IPv6 block you want to edit.
- Click the menu beside block name and select Edit, and skip to step 4.d to change the name or location.
To delete a block- Under Address Space, select the check box for one or more blocks.
- Click Action, and then select Delete Selected.
- Click Yes.
To add a child block- Under Address Space, select the block in which you want to add the new child block.
- Under Address Space, click New and select IPv6 Block.

If you selected the FC00::/6 block, under MAC Address for
Calculating 48-bit Site Prefix, set the IPv6 block
parameters:
- MAC address of the Server—to base the site prefix on the server’s MAC address, select this option, and then select the Get MAC Address of the Server Doing the Calculation Automatically check box to insert the server’s MAC address in the text field.
- Manually input Block Range—to manually type in a block range, select this option and then type the range into the field.

Under Block Information, set the range, name,
and location for the block:
- Range—type the range for the block in CIDR notation.
- Name—type a name for the block or network.
- Location—(Optional) select a
location from the drop-down menu on which the IP object that you are
adding or editing will be based. The most frequently used location
objects are at the top of the list.
- Inherited Location—displays the location annotation that's inherited from the parent object. If you don't include a location, this default location will be used for the current object and its child objects.
- Under Change Control, add comments, if required.
- Click Add or Update.
