Dynamic resource records are records that aren't manually added to Address Manager. Dynamic resource records are added to DNS/DHCP Servers and populated in Address Manager through DNS/DHCP Server notifications.

The following DNS resource records can be created dynamically through DNS/DHCP Server notifications:
  • Host (A/AAAA) records
  • Alias (CNAME) records
  • Text (TXT) records
  • Host information (HINFO) records
  • Service (SRV) records
  • Main Exchange (MX) records
  • Naming Authority Pointer (NAPTR) records
  • Dynamic Host Configuration Identifier (DHCID) records1
  • Pointer (PTR) records
  • Certificate Authority Authorization (CAA) records
  • Responsible Person (RP) records
  • Transport Layer Security Authentication (TLSA) records
  • Well-Known Service (WKS) records
  • Generic records

Attention: Dynamic DHCID records cannot be edited, renamed, moved, or duplicated. You can only delete dynamic DHCID resource records.
