Set the time zone on the system. You can set the time zone either by selecting location, country and region, using geographical coordinates or using the Posix TZ format.

Setting the time zone allows you to set the date and time at once. Setting the time zone ensures that the appliances respond correctly to the time changes that occur when we change the clocks to daylight savings time. This is important for ensuring uninterrupted service.

To set the time zone:

  1. Type configure system-time and press ENTER.
  2. Type set timezone and press ENTER.
  3. Type <1-10> to select a location and press ENTER.
    • Type 11 and press ENTER, if you want to specify the time zone using your geographical coordinates.
    • Type 12 and press ENTER, if you want to specify the tim zone using the Posiz TZ format.
  4. Select a country from the numbered list and press ENTER.
  5. Select a time zone region from the numbered list and press ENTER.
A prompt will ask you to confirm your time zone.
  6. Type 1 for Yes or 2 for No and press ENTER.

The next three steps are to specify the time zone when you chose option 11 at the previous step 3.

  1. If you chose option 11) coord, enter coordinates in ISO 6709 notation.
+4042-07403 stands for 40 degrees 42 minutes north, 74 degrees 3 minutes west.
Depending on the coordinates that you specify, the list of time zone regions displays.
  2. Select a time zone region from the numbered list and press ENTER.
A prompt will ask you to confirm your time zone.
  3. Type 1 for Yes or 2 for No and press ENTER.

The next two steps are to specify the time zone when you chose option 12 at the previous step 3.

  1. If you chose option 12 (Posix TZ format), enter a value for the TX environment variable.
For example, the Eastern time zone in North America is 5 hours behind UTC (-5 UTC). In this example you could enter a variable such as EST-5.
A prompt will ask you to confirm your time zone.
  2. Type 1 for Yes or 2 for No and press ENTER.
Once you confirm the time zone, Address Manager updates the time zone automatically and returns to the system-time configuration prompt.
