Enable the DNS Edge service point to participate in an Anycast pool that is available via an Anycast IPv4 address.
If the DNS/DHCP Server appliance is already configured for Anycast (assuming 10.10.10.10 is the Anycast IP) and if you want the service point to process the DNS client traffic that targets the Anycast IP of 10.10.10.10, you can set the service point IPv4 address to 10.10.10.10 when you enable the DNS Edge service point.
If the service point is already enabled on a DNS/DHCP Server appliance and bound to an additional IPv4 address of the Service Interface, and if you want the service point to process the DNS client traffic in an Anycast setup, you must configure the Anycast service by specifying the desired Anycast IP address then disable the service point and enable it again by assigning the Anycast IP address as the Service Point IPv4 Address instead of the additional IP address.
- Once the service point is enabled with the Anycast IP address as its IPv4 Address, the DNS/DHCP Server will stop processing the DNS client traffic targeting the Anycast IP address. The service point will process the DNS client traffic instead.
- You can only configure and enable the service point with one IPv4 address. If the Anycast service is configured with multiple Anycast IP addresses, the service point will only listen on the IP address that was assigned as its IPv4 address. The DNS/DHCP Server will process the DNS client traffic targeting the other Anycast IP addresses.
- When configured for Anycast, the service point uses the Anycast IP address, therefore it is not required to attach an additional IPv4 address to the Service Interface.
