Address Manager Administration Guide

Product name
BlueCat Integrity

The Domain Controller must be configured to update the primary DNS Server.

To configure a Domain Controller:

  1. Navigate to the network adapter object in Windows Server 2008 R2.
  2. Right-click on the network adapter object and select Properties.
  3. Modify the DNS server settings within Properties for Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) to set an appropriate DNS server for the domain controller, such as a BlueCat DNS/DHCP Server configured to be able to resolve queries for the domain controller (typically this is not the primary DNS server).
  4. Issue the following commands:
    ipconfig /registerdns
    net stop netlogon
    net start netlogon
  5. Repeat the process for other domain controllers if you are using more than one DC.
When the process is complete, the logs on the primary DNS Server will show the DDNS updates and the zones in Address Manager will be populated with the relevant records.
