This chapter describes how to create and manage the crossover high availability (xHA) service on BlueCat DNS/DHCP Server appliances and virtual machines.
xHA is supported on pairs of BlueCat appliances or pairs of BlueCat virtual machines*. xHA is NOT supported on
mixed pairs of physical appliances and virtual machines.
Attention:
- Address Manager v9.4.0 supports xHA on DNS/DHCP Servers using software version 9.2.0 or greater only. In addition, the software version of each node in an xHA pair must be identical. For more information, refer to Prerequisites for xHA.
- Customers using xHA with software version 9.1.0 or earlier must upgrade each server in an xHA pair to DNS/DHCP Server v9.2.0 or greater. This will ensure the proper continuity and functionality of services. For further details, refer to Configuring VLAN interfaces with xHA.
- If you are using xHA with VLAN Tagging, both the Active node and the Passive node must be configured with the same VLAN interfaces and the Primary IP address must be configured on the same services interface. For more information, refer to Configuring VLAN interfaces with xHA.
